I'm just glad that I am allowed to register now! It was not fun trying to have a conversation on the old site having to wait for a moderator to approve your comment. I usually just didn't bother.

Bravo to the new Boatnerd website. I just re-registered with a new account details. I have followed te site since it's very early days in the mid 90's. As a former lakes  sailor (78-01) I like to look every day, especially the news feed and the message boards. It's a mooring line that keeps me attached to my former career that I enjoyed so much. Like everyone else it will take a bit of getting used to. Thanks to all the volunteers whose efforts have made the new format a reality. I think it's great!

Speaking for the younger generation of Boatnerd's, this update is fresh and welcomed. After roughly 12-13 yrs of visiting the old site, on a regular basis, the mid-90s feel was starting to bore me.

The killing-off of the news photo gallery(thank-you to the hard-working volunteers who kept that going for years) several years back really pushed me, and I'm sure others, to other places like Facebook to keep up with the happenings around the lakes, to the point where I was only checking Boatnerd once, maybe twice per week. I have visited the newly updated site daily since its launch.

Many of the features of the old site are still here. some are easy to find, others you have to do some digging, but they're still there.

Websites change frequently, and for many, its difficult to adjust to, but they eventually get used to it. Same will happen with Boatnerd. Just give it time.

I like it, and it was needed.  It's also good to see the message board operating as it should with the newest posts in chronological order instead of having to read the posts backwards as it was before.

Nicely done and kudos to the boatnerd crew.

This was a refresh that was desperately needed. Sure there will be growing pains, but it is all for the better! The website is much easier to navigate, and this should help to get more people to use it who may have been put off by the antiquated old site.

I loved the map option in thr old site.  boatnerd was the most accurate vs any paid app out there.  and now living right on the saginaw river i could see who was coming through.  Having trouble with the new vessel passage option viewing especially on mobile phone.  the boatnerd banner takes over and it just doesn’t scale correctly.   Any suggestions?
