This cargo ship, evidently served on Port Huron, but my search for information is on a particular crew member, during the Second World War.

His name was Chester Hong, he was a cook, but evidently at some point was attacked by a fellow crew member, later he sued and won.  I am looking for any type of record(s) possible. Crew Logs, Employment, legal cases, wartime service.  Anything that can help me piece together the life of Chester Hong, who was born Chai Young Hong, in 1885, and for a short period was a silent actor in Hollywood, making about 20 or so films.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Or, sources that can be contacted.  Many Thanks,

You are looking for the case Hong v. United States, 59 F. Supp. 794, or 1945 A.M.C. 40, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York from November 16, 1944.
