Today, it looks like the VB Hispania is nearing Gaspe with the former Algoma Spirit in tow.  Speed 7-8 knots and destination showing as Aliaga.

Nearby, the Mirjana K. is headed in the same direction, showing similar speed, apparently towing and also giving Aliaga as her destination.  Anyone know what she's towing? (another scrap tow?).

Mirjana K was the Atlantic Tern, sold foreign in May.  Reported (thanks Mac) to have sailed from Newfoundland to Rotterdam, returning in mid-June with a barge for Quebec.

Recently saw photos posted to Boatnerd of the Algoma Spirit's name painted out as she awaits her scrap tow.

Looks like her time is near.  Noticed on AIS that VB Hispania entered the Cabot Strait last night, destination Montreal.
